I thought I would broadcast a few things that should be in everyone's closet.
Let's first start with an item that will never get old,
the denim jacket.
Here's some background: It all started in the early 1900's as a uniform for westerner workers. When the 50's and 60's rolled around, it became a symbol for the rebels against American society’s newfound penchant for materialism, urbanization, and conformity. This is what started the whole 'cool' vibe that the garment gives off. Since then, the denim jacket is an article of clothing that rappers, cowboys, hippies, rockers, rebels and your everyday gal all have in common.
For me personally, my denim jacket is my safe zone. If I'm in a rush one day, I know that I can just toss it on to complete my outfit.
This one in particular is from oneof my favorite stores, Urban Outfitters. Trust me, I do have quite a few denim jackets in my closet all ranging from dark to light washes, heavy and thick or light and thin, yet this one is my number one. The main reason being is because of the knitted stitch work on the back. It's like a little surprise for those that I pass by.
I've had this guy since my freshman year of highschool and it's held up well. Since it's slightly tattered, it gives any outfit a rustic vintage feel.
