Some may underestimate the power of brushes, but it is only for the wise who will udnerstand that they are the prime base to any makeup look.
Here are Some Guidelines
(link for DIY Brush Cleaner at the bottom of the page)
First thing to know: You don't need to burn a hole in your pocket for quality.
BH Cosmetics: If price is more important to you but you still want something with quality, BH Cosmetics is your pick. Most of my own brushes are from them. The company is based online and mainly advertises to makeup artists. They have a lot of brushes that come in sets so you'll find a lot of good deals. You can order their brushes here.
Real Techniques: If you would choose quality over price but don't want to splurge too much, Real Techniques is the choice for you. I have been using the same set for way over a year yet the bristles have not fallen out and they have not lost their usefulness. You can find their brushes in ULTA,amazon(for reduced prices) or order them on sitehere
Second thing to know: Clean them.
When you don't clean them, bacteria will build up on them. This happens because of all the excess product that gets built up in between the bristles. (gross I know) You probably know this by now but bacteria and skin don't get along. So it's no surprise that acne comes next. With saying that, it's always a good idea to clean out all the old grody product from time to time.
They perform better when they're clean. I've noticed that whenever my brushes are at the point of needing to be cleaned, my makeup game is never prime. Clean brushes enable your makeup to be applied smoothly with more perfection.
