As a college student, I have learned that on most days I won't even have an hour to get ready. Becuase of this, I have mastered the art of creating a look that's simple, pretty and most importantly, quick.
The main thing to focus on is the under eye area. Everything from that point on is just made to balance the brightness of that area out.
-First thing's first, use a CC or BB cream. (If you have normal to dry skin, use a CC. If your skin is more on the oily side, use a BB.)
CC or BB creams are great to use because they're lightweight and you can skip the step of applying a primer.
-Use a concealer to highlight under the eye, as well as the lid area.( If you're like me, and love a grand contour no matter what the occasion, go ahead and add some to the bridge of your nose, and the center of your fourhead. ) This will give the face a more dewy luminous glow.
-Grab a peachy toned blush. Don't go for something too deep in color like a raspberry toned blush or even a mauve. A light peachy color gives an illusion of healthy youthfullness. When applying these two things (blush and concealer) make sure that everything is angled upwards to lift the face.
-For me personally I like to glow. Apply a highlighter to the high points of your face. (Bridge of your nose and the highest point of your cheeks.) I don't recommend the center of your forehead just for the fact that it can come off looking a bit leathery, which assuming is something you don't want.
-There's not much to do with the actual eyes themselves. Take the same highlighter you used before to save time and not dig through that pitless makeup bag of yours. Apply it to your lids as well as inner corner of your eyes. This will make them appear more awake. Add more points to your look by adding a light colored shimmery pencil to your water line. For example, a personal favorite of mine is the NYX 630 Cachemire. Like I said, the trick to looking alive but keeping it simple, is all in the eyes. This act opens the eyes. Do yourself a favor and skip out on the black eye liner. I promise all it will do is make your eyes seem smaller than they actually are.
-Next is mascara. The main focus for this is length. Sure thickness is great, but the main focus is makeing your eyes look wide and open. So choose a lenthening mascara. (Pro tip: Lengthening mascaras are usually the ones with skinnny rubber wands not the ones with the longer thick bristals, those are usually for thickening.)Make sure to do your bottom lashes as well.
-Eye brows are always something that should be done no matter what. Do not neglect them. They are important yet, personal. So you may go ahead and do them however you personally choose. However, keep in mind that the makeup you are wearing is quite lightweight and a heavy brow may give you the look of a very upset man. So tone them down a bit and do what you uaually do, on a lighter scale.
-Lastly; Slide on a lipsloss. For this look of liveliness it's best to use gloss because the light reflects off of it and it will give off the feel of femininity.
See that wasn't so hard. Now you look alive and pretty, even though you didn't put in too much effort.
